Being a great marketer requires you to be a great story teller, ( a genuine great story teller). Us marketers are not only required to identify an efficient marketing strategy that ensures organizational growth, but we are also required to deliver results.
“Always start with the result” is what professor. Chris Langdon used to teach us explaining the customer journey and how can we identify the consumers needs accordingly. Nowadays, in any field marketers are required to become tech savvy, which makes sense due to the fast forwarding technological jump we had to face during the pandemic of Covid-19.
In fact one blogger has estimated that we have jumped six years ahead due the pandemic in terms of heavily relaying on technology as a main method of marketing productivity. However, pure human interaction is also appreciated by customers in all sectors even in tech. Yes , a genuine phone call or an interaction of a coffee drink with our masks on then off for a sip of coffee then on again is much more appreciated than an email starting with hello Mr.X.
This is not an underestimation of Email marketing as it is the main method that I use for my business to market for products. However, a genuine , authentic story as a marketer comes from these interactions, speaking directly with humans, commenting on their posts, and showing appreciation for their shared knowledge. Giving to others will come a long way in writing your own story of experiences to present in a project or a job interview.
